The California NanoSystems Institute at UCLA (CNSI) has recently received a philanthropic commitment of $10 million over three years to establish the Noble Family Innovation Fund. The Noble Fund focuses on identifying, supporting and accelerating high-risk, high‐reward research, from basic to translational, with promise for commercialization and societal impact. Their goal is to create a model for academic research and entrepreneurship that enables strategic investment to seed discoveries that have the potential to be translated for the public good.

The Institute for American Cultures (IAC) in collaboration with the Office of Research and Creative Activities (ORCA) is pleased to announce a call for proposals for the Racial and Social Justice (RSJ) Grants Program. These RSJ grants are designed to help launch and support research projects demonstrably centered on exploring the sources and consequences of racial inequities and social justice. The goal of the Racial and Social Justice Grants is to facilitate investigators’ preparedness for attaining extramural funding.
