UC National Laboratory Fees Research Program: 2022 Targeted UC Multicampus-National Laboratory Collaborative Research and Training (UC-NL CRT) Awards

The UC Laboratory Fees Research Program enhances partnerships between UC researchers and laboratory scientists at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). Awards from this program promote the development of projects and collaborations that advance the missions of the national laboratories and UC. The UC Laboratory Fees Research Program is offering the 2022 Targeted UC Multicampus-National Laboratory Collaborative Research and Training (UC-NL CRT) Awards, focusing on collaborative research and training activities in the targeted areas identified for high-impact research realized through UC-national laboratory synergy:

  • Clean, Renewable energy and Decarbonization
  • Frontiers of Mesoscale Materials and High Energy Density Science
  • Pandemic Preparedness and Biosecurity

Award Details
  • Total anticipated funding for all awards in this opportunity: $22-25 million over 3 years. 
  • Total funding request per application may not exceed $4 million over 3 years, including indirect costs, and excluding contributions from the laboratories. Additional budget restrictions are detailed in the RFP.
