The UCLA Center for Community Engagement is pleased to announce grants for Building Departmental Capacity for Community-Engaged Teaching. This opportunity will enable academic departments to support and sustain community partnerships for impactful community-engaged teaching/learning. The Center seeks to enhance departmental capacity to support faculty and instructors to create meaningful and impactful community engagement in the curriculum. Departments that currently offer at least one community-engaged course are encouraged to apply.

The Teagle Foundation Grant supports the development of new General Education (GE) classes and the modification of existing non-GE classes to qualify as GEs. Successful proposals create a GE class that brings engineering students together with students from non-engineering majors to form a diverse group of learners engaged in exploring a General Education topic while developing skills that are hallmarks of a liberal arts education.
UCLA's Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) announces Instructional Improvement Program (IIP) grants. The grants program supports the development of undergraduate curricula and pedagogy. Proposals should address specific course needs and provide cost-effective solutions to defined pedagogical problems. IIP grants can be used to support issues of diversity and inclusiveness in classrooms and address performance disparities across different student groups.
The Community – Engaged Course Development Program will support UCLA instructors in developing new community-engaged courses at the undergraduate, graduate and /or professional level. Priority will be given to proposals for new courses that can be integrated into and sustained within the curriculum of developments undergraduate, graduate, or professional program.
