The pilot program will provide up to 5 fellowships for recent recipients of doctoral or terminal degrees to complete specific research tasks while in residency at a host UC campus, department, institute or laboratory. The objective of this program are to enhance collaborative ties between the UC and Mexico by advancing the research activities and professional development of young scholars under UC supervision and/or through participation in a UC faculty-directed research project.

This pilot program will provide a 24-month fellowship to complete a full-time, in-person residency with a UC host starting in Fall 2025.

Eligibility Information
The program seeks applicants who have completed an undergraduate and/or terminal degree at a Mexican institution of higher education or whose work is directly relevant to US-Mexico research collaboration. Applicants must have received (or be prepared to receive) their doctoral or terminal degree no later than July 1, 2025. Individuals are not eligible to apply if they have 5+ years of postdoctoral research experience or hold a faculty position of associate professor or above.
