Soliciting Nominations for Public Impact Research Awards

On December 13, 2019, Roger Wakimoto (vice chancellor for research & creative activities), Richard Desjardins (chair of the Academic Senate Council on Research), and Carole Goldberg (chair of the UCLA Centennial Celebration steering committee) announced the initiation of the Public Impact Research Awards in honor of UCLA’s Centennial. These awards are designed to recognize Senate faculty whose research or other creative work has had a beneficial public impact, where such benefit has been achieved in part through the efforts of those same faculty to bring their creative activity into the public arena. Two awards are designated for nominees from north campus disciplines and two awards are designated for south campus disciplines, each in the amount of $10,000.

For more details, please refer to the BruinPost and consult the award guidelines (PDF) for more information about what is required for the nomination process. Nominations will be accepted for individuals and teams until 8 a.m. on February 10, 2020.
