The Office of Research and Creative Activities and the Office of Interdisciplinary and Cross-Campus Affairs are pleased to announce two new internal funding opportunities:
- Collaborative Research Mobility Awards between UCLA and the University of British Columbia: Funding up to $15k is available to establish or enrich interdisciplinary research between faculty at the two institutions. The purpose of the awards is to foster deeper linkages between the two universities through collaborative workshops, trainings, and short-term visits, aimed at developing grant proposals for joint project funding and/orjoint research outputs. (Due date: February 3, 2020).
- Transdisciplinary Research Acceleration Grants: Funding up to $40k is available to UCLA faculty to catalyze transdisciplinary research and creative activities by supporting early stage projects with the specific goal of facilitating investigators’ chances for attaining extramural funding. Proposals must represent a research collaboration from at least two distinctly different disciplines, with preference given to projects led by a "north campus" PI and/or projects that advance diversity, equity, and inclusion within the research enterprise. (Due date: March 2, 2020).
These funding mechanisms are in addition to those of the Academic Senate Council on Research, and represent a new investment designed to position faculty for extramural support for their research and creative activities.
