On June 28, 2023, Norman and Armena Powell University Librarian Virginia Steel announced UCLA Library’s Summer Digital Technologies Workshops. In collaboration with the Office of Advanced Research Computing (OARC) some of these workshops will showcase library content, while others introduce tools, methods and workflows in order to demonstrate ways to design research projects or processes from collecting (or finding) data.

On June 7, 2023, Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Darnell Hunt announced that Jim Davis, vice provost for information technology and head of UCLA’s Office of Advance Research Computing (OARC), will step down from his role on June 30, 2023. OARC will join the Office of Research and Creative Activities (ORCA) led by Vice Chancellor Roger Wakimoto.

On June 2, 2023 UCLA celebrated the recipients of the Public Impact Research Awards at a reception.  These awards were created by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research & Creative Activities (ORCA) and the Centennial Celebration for UCLA during UCLA's 100th year anniversary to recognize faculty whose research or other creative work has benefitted the public.
