UCLA Public Impact Research Awards 2023

On June 2, 2023 UCLA celebrated the recipients of the Public Impact Research Awards at a reception.  These awards were created by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research & Creative Activities (ORCA) and the Centennial Celebration for UCLA during UCLA's 100th year anniversary to recognize faculty whose research or other creative work has benefitted the public. This year’s recipients were:

  • Yousef Bozorgnia, Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering; Director, Natural Hazards Risk and Resiliency Research Center, UCLA Samueli School of Engineering

UCLA Law COVID Behind Bars Data Project. This award is shared by:

  • Sharon Dolovich, Professor of Law; Faculty Director, UCLA Prison Law and Policy Program; Director, UCLA Law COVID Behind Bars Data Project, UCLA School of Law
  • Aaron Littman, Assistant Professor of Law; Faculty Director, UCLA Law Prisoners’ Rights Clinic; Deputy and Acting Director, UCLA Law COVID Behind Bars Data Project, UCLA School of Law
