University Librarian Virginia Steel Announces Access to the UC Library Search Tool

On July 29, 2021, Virginia Steel, UCLA's university librarian, announced access to the new UC Library Search tool available to all members of the UC community. UC Library Search allows users to conduct systemwide searches for materials across all UC campus libraries.

UC Library Search replaces the UCLA Library Catalog and Melvyl and allows users to: 

  • Search and get real-time availability for print, digital, and electronic items from all 10 UC campuses in the articles, books, and more search.
  • Discover and request content available outside the UC system.
  • Manage loans, requests, and more from multiple campuses all in one place in My Account
