Faculty Research Funding Opportunities

On February 15, 2022, Vice Chancellor for Research and Creative Activities Roger M. Wakimoto announced three campuswide opportunities for funding: Latinx Studies Seed Grants (up to $30,000)Racial and Social Justice Seed Grants (up to $30,000), and Transdisciplinary Research Acceleration Grants (up to $30,000). Applications are due March 23. 

  • The Latinx Studies Seed Grants are designed to help launch and support research projects on and/or involving Latinx populations in the United States, as well as to position projects to attain extramural funding.
  • The Racial and Social Justice Seed Grants are designed to help launch and support research projects demonstrably centered on exploring the sources and consequences of racial inequities and social justice with the goal of building the researchers’ capacity to attain extramural funding. 
  • For the Transdisciplinary Research Acceleration Grants seed funding is available to catalyze transdisciplinary research and creative activities by supporting early stage projects with the specific goal of facilitating investigators’ chances for attaining extramural funding.
