UCLA Innovation Fund and Biomedical Competition Announcement

On May 1, 2017, Amir Naiberg, the Associate Vice Chancellor, and President & CEO of UCLA Technology Development Corporation, announced the creation of a new funding mechanism, the UCLA Innovation. The first focused effort is a call for biomedical proposals, with funding tracks for additional areas of research to be announced in the future. This multimillion-dollar fund is the result of a campus-wide partnership between the Technology Development Group, David Geffen School of Medicine/UCLA Health, the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science, and the College Divisions of Life Sciences and Physical Sciences. The intent of this funding is to enable research and technologies to move quickly from the lab to the market, and bridge the gap between academic research and industry/venture capital interest.
