Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Emily A. Carter Announces a new Summer Mentored Research Fellowship Program

On Friday, May 21, 2021, Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Emily A. Carter shared a BruinPost announcing a 200% expansion of mentored summer research fellowships with the new Summer Mentored Research Fellowship program to support continuing doctoral students. Funds will be allocated to all schools and divisions to support a mixture of fully funded and academic-unit-matched awards. Each fellowship awardee will receive $6,000. The aim of this award is to support continuing doctoral students with insufficient funding sources for the summer and create opportunities for them to work closely with faculty to advance their doctoral thesis research.

Fellowship awards are very limited in number and allocation is at the discretion of deans. Students interested in being considered for this fellowship should contact their departments.

Please visit the Summer Mentored Research Fellowship web page for detailed information.
