Associate Vice Chancellor for the Technology Development Group announces new UCLA Policy 955, UCLA Procedure 955.1, and revisions to UCLA Procedure 955.2

On May 21, 2018, Associate Vice Chancellor for the Technology Development Group Amir Naiberg announced that the Technology Development Group has developed a new policy (Policy 955), as well as a new procedure (Procedure 955.1), and has updated an existing procedure (Procedure 955.2, to supersede Procedure 950.2, dated 1/4/2008). These new and updated policies and procedures are intended to address and bring additional clarity to certain issues concerning UCLA’s intellectual property, particularly with respect to the distribution of licensing revenue, as well as the release of patent rights to inventors.

As part of the formal process for issuing a new or revised policy or procedure, the proposed policy and procedures are posted on the APPS Under Review web page for a 30-day campus-wide review and comment period. UCLA faculty and staff have the opportunity to review these proposed drafts and send any comments by June 15, 2018.
