The UCLA Center for Community Engagement is pleased to announce grants for Building Departmental Capacity for Community-Engaged Teaching. This opportunity will enable academic departments to support and sustain community partnerships for impactful community-engaged teaching/learning. The Center seeks to enhance departmental capacity to support faculty and instructors to create meaningful and impactful community engagement in the curriculum. Departments that currently offer at least one community-engaged course are encouraged to apply.

The Teagle Foundation Grant supports the development of new General Education (GE) classes and the modification of existing non-GE classes to qualify as GEs. Successful proposals create a GE class that brings engineering students together with students from non-engineering majors to form a diverse group of learners engaged in exploring a General Education topic while developing skills that are hallmarks of a liberal arts education.
UCLA's Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) announces Instructional Improvement Program (IIP) grants. The grants program supports the development of undergraduate curricula and pedagogy. Proposals should address specific course needs and provide cost-effective solutions to defined pedagogical problems. IIP grants can be used to support issues of diversity and inclusiveness in classrooms and address performance disparities across different student groups.
The Community – Engaged Course Development Program will support UCLA instructors in developing new community-engaged courses at the undergraduate, graduate and /or professional level. Priority will be given to proposals for new courses that can be integrated into and sustained within the curriculum of developments undergraduate, graduate, or professional program. The Cancer Research Coordinating Committee (CRCC) is pleased to issue a request for proposals for the 2024-25 Faculty Seed Grants. The CRCC is a systemwide, faculty-directed cancer research program that provides one-year seed grants for topics in any discipline that address any aspect of cancer, including its origins, prevention and cure. CRCC funds support meritorious research spanning all areas from basic research to applied clinical and community-based research in any field relevant to cancer.
The NRS Field Science Fellowship provides financial support to UC undergraduate faculty teams conducting scientific research in the field at NRS reserves. These fellowships enable students to focus on gaining valuable hands-on research experience under the guidance of a faculty researcher.
The Iris Cantor-UCLA Women’s Health Center/UCLA National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health seeks to promote comprehensive health care for women by providing support for research to understand human sex differences in health and disease and medical issues and diseases unique to women, as well as to develop and test clinical interventions for women. An equally important component of the Iris Cantor-UCLA Women’s Health Center/UCLA National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health mission is training future leaders in women’s health research.
CBCRP is issuing an open Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to fund a PI and their team to conduct a review of the provision of fertility preservation services to young breast cancer patients in California, patients’ awareness of these services, whether disparities exist in the provision of treatments or awareness of them; the impact of California SB 600; and to convene a panel of California stakeholders to consider their findings and suggest effective policy interventions to address these issues.
Alianza MX provides funding for UC researchers to present at conferences in Mexico or to host events at a UC campus. The objective of this support is to establish a foundation for longer-term collaboration, which may include applications for additional funding support from extramural sources or in response to calls organized by Alianza MX.
Alianza MX provides up to two years of seed funding for strategic research projects that deepen the understanding of common challenges shared by the US and Mexico and propose innovative solutions. This action research model leverages the research capabilities of the UC and the networking capabilities of Alianza MX to engage a wide range of non academic stakeholders with key academic insights and discover knowledge gaps that guide future research.

Alianza MX provides funding for UC graduate students to complete research stays of up to 3 months in Mexico, with the objective of supporting the pursuit of specific research objectives. Research activities should focus on topics that are specific to Mexico; topics on California-Mexico or US-Mexico relations; topics of comparative analysis between Mexico and California or the United States; or binational solutions to strategically important multi-disciplinary challenges in areas such as climate change, health, or migration.
