Special UCLA Event: How Not to Destroy the World with Artificial Intelligence [EVENT CANCELLED]

The California Center for Population Research (CCPR) is organizing a talk by Professor Stuart Russell (Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley) titled "How Not to Destroy the World with AI" on Wednesday, March 11, 2020. Professor Russell's research covers almost all subfields of AI, with a focus on probabilistic reasoning and machine learning. His current concerns include the threat of autonomous weapons and the long-term future of artificial intelligence and its relation to humanity. The latter topic is the subject of his new book, "Human Compatible: AI and the Problem of Control "(Viking/Penguin, 2019), as well as this lecture.
