In collaboration with the David Geffen School of Medicine, the College divisions of Life and Physical Sciences, the School of Dentistry and UCLA Health, the Technology Development Group (TDG) is pleased to announce that applications for the UCLA Innovation Fund are now open.
UCLA faculty from all schools who have signed the UCLA Patent Policy are eligible to apply. Focusing on therapeutics, medical devices, diagnostics, and digital health technologies, the UCLA Innovation Fund speeds technologies from idea to market by bridging the funding gap between academia and industry. Funding will be used to advance projects towards key commercialization milestones, enabling these technologies to be licensed to an existing company or a startup.
Award Amount and Details
- Funding will be in the range of $50K - $150K.
- Projects with significant commercial potential may apply for an exemption for funding up to $200K.

Eligibility Information
- Applications are open to Principal Investigators (PIs) across campus, regardless of their departmental affiliation.
- Project teams may include non-faculty positions (e.g., graduate students, postdocs, staff, nurses, etc.) that sign the UC Patent Policy.
