The California Collaborative for Pandemic Recovery and Readiness Research (CPR³) is excited to announce research funding opportunities through RFP mechanisms focused on improving the health and wellbeing of people throughout the state of California, especially the most vulnerable residents.
Working with experts in public health, academic research, and community engagement, and with oversight from the CPR3 Scientific Steering Committee, CPR3 has identified the following four research priority areas:
- The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on social and economic outcomes (e.g., those related to household finances, housing/mobility, labor markets, etc.) and evaluation of policies/interventions designed to mitigate or stabilize these effects
- Behavior change strategies to improve relevance, acceptance, and uptake of pandemic-related recommendations, policies and interventions, including public health communication approaches
- The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on children and adolescents (including health and social determinants of health), and the role of intersecting social, structural, and economic factors at household and community levels [Closed]
- The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on mental health, particularly among sub-populations at increased risk such as the elderly, children, people with pre-existing conditions, and communities with underlying social vulnerabilities [Closed]
Award Amount and Details
Grants of $100,000 to $300,000 for one year will be awarded. Funds must be spent no later than June 30, 2024.

Eligibility Information
These awards are intended for individuals with:
- Principal Investigator (PI) status at any University of California (UC) campus
- PIs must have a departmental mechanism to receive funding
- Applicants are encouraged to work with other UC campuses
